Samantha Speakes joined Mozley, Finlayson & Loggins LLP in 2026. Since her admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 2023, Ms. Speakes has practiced primarily in the area of workers’ compensation defense, representing self-insured and commercially insured employers across Georgia. She works closely with corporate clients and insurance carriers to navigate the complexities of the litigation process and to resolve claims efficiently.
Ms. Speakes holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences. She draws on this background to defend claims involving complex medical issues or disputed causation, providing a practical advantage when analyzing medical evidence and collaborating with medical providers.
Ms. Speakes graduated, with honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2023. While at Emory, she won the 2022 national mediation competition as a member of the ABA Alternative Dispute Resolution team. She also received the Dean’s Award for Global Public Health Law and earned the Emory TI:GER certificate, focusing on commercialization and risk assessment strategy.
Samantha lives in Atlanta with her husband Cameron and their two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, strategic gaming, and practicing the Irish language.
