Mozley, Finlayson & Loggins LLP is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support the insurance defense and civil litigation teams for a busy mid-size law firm in our Dunwoody office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities, be detail-oriented, and must work well under pressure. Must be able to independently prioritize and prepare cases for upcoming deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal assistant interested in a thriving litigation practice. Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to multiple litigation attorneys
  • Prepare shell documents of pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence
  • Proofread, format, and finalize pleadings, discovery, motions, correspondence, and other outgoing documents
  • Familiarity with State and Federal court filings, including submission of electronic filings.
  • Prepare exhibits for depositions, which include document production, drafting transmittal letters, and recording Bates numbers
  • Prepare and conduct conflict of interest checks, open new files, and maintain client files
  • Convert documents to PDF, edit PDFs, and combine/delete pages of PDFs
  • Maintain electronic files for client matters using Aderant Total Office and NetDocuments
  • Transcribe dictation into NetDocuments or client files
  • File and organize paper files, including original discovery, releases, and transcripts
  • Arrange in-house and external depositions
  • Assist attorneys with marketing materials, presentations, and publications
  • Record attorneys’ time entries
  • Prepare expense reports for attorneys
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3 + years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
  • High School degree is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be an excellent communicator in the English language with particular strength in clear, detail-oriented, and accurate writing
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and have the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with a focus on details
  • Experience with dictation is preferred
  • State and Federal e-filing experience is required
  • Experience preparing for depositions and trial
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF
  • Experience with Aderant Total Office and NetDocuments a plus
