Christopher N. Shuman
Chris Shuman joined the firm as a partner in 2007 and has extensive experience representing self-insureds, insurance companies, and insureds in a wide range of property and casualty and other litigation matters. Mr. Shuman has represented self-insureds and insurance companies in telecommunications cases, premises liability cases, automobile and trucking cases, construction litigation, products liability cases, homeowners' claims, coverage disputes, and in suspicious or suspected fraudulent claims. He has presented seminars to claims representatives on a variety of insurance and litigation matters. He is a certified arbitrator and has participated in a large number of arbitrations/mediations, both as an arbitrator and as an advocate.
Mr. Shuman attended Clemson University, from which he received a B.S. degree in Economics in 1982 as a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the National Economics Honor Society. In 1985, he graduated cum laude from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and Order of Barristers. Prior to joining the firm, he was previously a partner at another Atlanta law firm for 16 years.
Mr. Shuman was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1985. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is admitted to practice in all trial courts of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Georgia.
