Curtis J. Martin II
Curtis J. Martin II is a partner with Mozley, Finlayson & Loggins LLP. Mr. Martin joined the firm in 2003 and practices in the areas of commercial litigation, automobile and trucking litigation, product liability and premises liability.
Mr. Martin was born in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated from Radford University. He was employed by IBM in their Global Services Division and was a recipient of IBM’s Golden Circle Award. Mr. Martin received his J.D. from Valparaiso University in 2003, after spending his final year as a visiting student at Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, Mr. Martin was a member of Moot Court and served as President of the Black Law Students Association and founding President of the Multicultural Law Students Association.
In addition to his active practice, Mr. Martin has engaged in numerous pro bono and civic activities in his service to the community and the legal profession. He has provided pro bono legal representation to the community through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Domestic Violence Program which affords representation to the victims of domestic violence. Mr. Martin has also served as a mentor and speaker to high school students through the Metro Employers of Atlanta and other non-profit organizations. Mr. Martin has served as chairman of the Scholarship Committee of the Gate City Bar Association’s Hall of Fame program, which provides scholarships to deserving law students. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Horizons Atlanta, which is a non-profit organization designed to provide an academic enrichment program to public school children from economically disadvantaged families. Mr. Martin is a contributor to the Atlanta Business Journal, authoring a bi-monthly column focused on legal issues.
Mr. Martin is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, American Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Gate City Bar Association, which is the oldest African American bar association in the State of Georgia. Mr. Martin was recently selected to the 2009 edition of Who's Who in Black Atlanta and recognized by the Atlanta Business Journal as one of Atlanta's 40 Rising Stars.
